Was there a better way to kick off 2022 than with yet another season of The Bachelor? *laughs nervously* ICYMI, Clayton Echard started his journey on January 3, and things have been verrrry interesting, to say the least. While you probs haven’t been able to take your eyes off the ladies bringing the drama (god bless you, Chicken Wing Claire), there are definitely a handful of others you should pay attention to, starting with Gabriela “Gabby” Windey.
It’s not exactly a secret that Gabby makes a big impression on Clayton, and it’s time to find out everything we know about her—including a ton of spoilers and details on her previous Bachelor Nation relationship. Because yes, she has a famous ex!
Gabby Is an ICU Nurse and Former Cheerleader
Thirty-year-old Gabby works as an ICU nurse in Denver, Colorado, which definitely deserves a round of applause. Gabby, who spent five years as a cheerleader for the Denver Broncos, actually won the Pop Warner Humanitarian Award for her work as a frontline worker and was the first woman to receive the honor (it usually goes to NFL players).
She Doesn’t Have a ~Type~
According to her ABC bio, Gabby has “a lot of substance, emotional depth and a wealth of lived experiences,” and when it comes to dating, she doesn’t have a type.
“Gabby is looking for a man with quiet confidence,” ABC’s long-suffering bio writer explains. “She doesn’t have a physical type but says that if he doesn’t have a personality, then it’s a hard pass. Her ideal man will challenge her, communicate his feelings, and work hard to equally carry the weight of the relationship.
Hopefully, he also has a good sense of humor, because Gabby writes a good caption:
She Has *One* Nonnegotiable in a ’Ship
Must love dogs, essentially. “Whatever man captures Gabby’s heart must also have room in their life for her four-legged friend because she and her goldendoodle Leonardo are a package deal,” ABC says. “While Gabby would love to find a man, she isn’t the type to lose herself in a relationship. She’s hoping to find a man who will love her for the independent woman she is.”
Her Fun Facts Are Iconic
ABC really came through with the fun facts for this season’s contestants, athough they’re less “fun” and more unhinged. Please look no further than Gabby’s, which include the fact that she...
- ...is terrified of humpback whales but would love to see one in person from a safe distance.
- ...loves to write cards.
She Dated a Former Bachelor Star
Remember Dean Unglert? Well, he’s Gabby's ex. Dean was actually the one to break this news while chatting to Jared Haibon on the Help I Suck at Dating podcast, saying, “You know, my ex-girlfriend is actually on the season of the next Bachelor. She was one of the main exes. She was my girlfriend from college.”
Dean also said he thinks that she’ll either win The Bachelor or be the next Bachelorette lead so...stay tuned.
Enjoy this ~romantic~ pic of Gabby and Clayton after the Baywatch-themed group date, but BEWARE OF SPOILERS RIGHT AFTER IT.
Gabby Gets a One-on-One Date
A few episodes ago, Gabby won the Baywatch-themed group date and got a little extra time with Clayton. But in tonight's episode, the gal finally hears her name alone on the date card. According to Reality Steve, the one-on-one "definitely involved a helicopter ride" and time with Clayton and Gabby "walking in a park and sitting on a park bench." Naturally, at the end of it, Gabby got the rose, per Steve.
Gabby Makes It to Clayton’s Final Two
How do we know this, you ask? Spoilers, of course, all thanks to Reality Steve. The spoiler sleuth initially confirmed a few months back that Gabby had made it to hometown dates along with Rachel Recchia, Serene Russell, and Susie Evans:
He then revealed that Gabby was in the final three, alongside Susie and Rachel. This means that Gabby went on a fantasy suite date with Clayton, and it looks like it went well because judging from a pretty !!! ABC promo, Gabby is in his final two.
In the trailer, Clayton can be seen talking to two women whose backs are toward viewers—and Reality Steve says they are Rachel and Gabby. As he put it:
“The two women whose backs are to us (and he’s seemingly telling he was intimate with both) are Rachel and Gabby, two women we know had hometown dates... So most people assume now Gabby and Rachel are your final two based on that shot in Iceland. Certainly looks that way, but with the way the editing works and how tricky they can get sometimes, the only thing we know for sure is that whole scene happens in Iceland.”
So, did Gabby win? TBD, but she’s definitely someone to keep an eye on.
